Kitchen Sink Wastes

Kitchen Sink Basket Wastes and Plugs

A basket waste is the strainer and plug that sits in your kitchen sink drain. It catches food scraps before they block the pipes and seals the bowl when you need to fill it. Upgrading it is a cheap, quick way to refresh an older sink.

Basket wastes and plugs

Oliveri offers basket wastes in black, copper and gunmetal to match coloured tapware, plus a square basket waste for square-line sinks. Replacement plugs come in round, square and covered versions. A covered plug hides the strainer for a cleaner look. Oliveri basket waste seals let you replace a worn seal without changing the whole waste. Modern National's kitchen sink basket waste comes in four colours.

Getting the right fit

Kitchen sink outlets vary, so check your sink's waste size before ordering. Read what size is your plug hole? If you're matching an Oliveri sink, the Oliveri wastes are the safest bet.

Keeping it clean

Empty the basket regularly and give it a scrub. Our guide to cleaning your sink without harsh chemicals has tips.
